How is the test performed?

A pre-measured area of scalp hair is isolated from the surrounding hair. It is gathered into a bundle and drawn into an electronic instrument that measures the bundle's diameter and generates a numeric value. No hair needs to be cut, and the test takes about 10 minutes.

What are the medical implications?

Cohen has suggested that his technology will forever change the way we think and talk about hair loss. “We all know the number for our blood pressure, cholesterol and weight.
