Revolutionary new technology can detect balding – 5 to 10 years before it occurs

Believe it or not, hair loss cannot be measured in a hair salon or a doctor’s office. Hair professionals are simply unable to answer the questions - "How much hair do I have?" or "How much hair have I lost?"

But that's not so any more. There's a medically tested and scientifically proven, internationally acclaimed, new technology that's been awarded two US patents, and it's available now… and only at Miami's Hair Loss Center.

How does the HAIR QUANTIMETER work and why does it work? Common pattern balding is caused by a progressive reduction in hair diameter, not the loss of a full-sized hair. It starts 5 to 10 years before balding becomes visible, and sequentially spreads to all scalp zones except 10.

The HAIR QUANTIMETER is a very reliable means of detecting early changes in hair diameter, the predictive hallmark of subsequent balding.

Hair loss (and growth) may be caused by a change in the number of hairs, a change in the diameter of hairs, or a change in the growth cycle synchronization. One, two, or all three of these factors may be responsible. With the HAIR QUANTIMETER's unique technology, all three parameters are simultaneously measured, integrated, and expressed as a single three-digit numerical value.

Hundreds of proven and unproven preparations, nutrients, and devices are promoted as capable of “growing” hair. But there is no simple test to confirm their claims. With HAIR QUANTIMETER technology, new hair growth products can be easily and inexpensively evaluated in a salon or physician’s office, without laboratory testing or cutting off hair.

Medically accepted treatments for pattern balding are most effective when started early. But 50% of hair mass must be lost before it can be seen with the naked eye. This means that millions of men and women will not discover they are balding until more than half their hair is gone! With HAIR QUANTIMETER technology a reduction in hair mass, as small as 5% can be detected. Those with early pattern balding are alerted to the situation and the prospect of what’s likely to occur.

Diffuse hair loss affects all 10 Zones. It is a precipitous event that often follows pregnancy and fever. The hair sheds (or falls out) rather than reduce in diameter. The HAIR QUANTIMETER can measure shedding as well as diameter reduction. Cessation of the loss can be detected and new mothers can track their recovery with confidence.

The HAIR QUANTIMETER is only one of the many diagnostic tests available at The Hair Loss Center If you have hair loss, an entire battery of tests will be performed to determine the status of your hair’s health, and determine the reasons for its loss. What separates this evaluation from evaluations elsewhere is our ability to measure the actual amount of hair you have. We can tell you if it’s normal, tell you what percent you’ve lost, at what rate it’s been lost, and we can determine if it is responding to regrowth treatments. We can also detect if there are very early signs of balding... those imperceptible changes that occur 10 to 15 years before hair loss is visibly apparent.

With this technology, doctors will be able to answer many of the questions their patients have been asking for years.

  • Do I have a normal amount of hair?
  • How much hair have I lost?
  • How fast am I losing my hair?
  • Is my Rogaine or Propecia treatment working?
  • How much better am I?
  • I’m 25 years old… will I start balding soon?
  • How is the test performed?

A pre-measured area of scalp hair is isolated from the surrounding hair. It is gathered into a bundle and drawn into an electronic instrument that measures the bundle's diameter and generates a numeric value. No hair needs to be cut, and the test takes about 10 minutes.

quantimeter What are the medical implications?

Cohen has suggested that his technology will forever change the way we think and talk about hair loss. “We all know the number for our blood pressure, cholesterol and weight. Now, we’ll be able to talk about hair in the same medical context – any region of the scalp can be scored with a value from 1 to 100.” The value is called the Trichometric Index (TI) and it represents the square millimeter cross section area of all the hair in on square centimeter of scalp.

If a man or woman is actively losing hair, the speed at which the hair loss is progressing can be measured and tracked.

If you’re using a product that promises to grow hair, you can find out if it’s actually working and how well it’s working. Scams and false claims will be exposed once and for all!

Women who lose their hair following delivery can be measured every few months to determine if the shedding has stabilized or if recovery has begun.

And no hair needs to be cut off to perform the test and it takes less than 5 minutes

But perhaps the most exciting prospect is this:

Medical Fact: A man or woman must lose 40% of their hair before it becomes visible to the naked eye! Than means you must lose almost 50% of your hair before you realize that you are first beginning to bald.

But the new device can detect the earliest diameter reduction… when the loss is as small as 5-10%. This is the loss that takes place 10 to 15 years before balding can even be seen. Studies show that treating hair loss with minoxidil or finasteride in its earliest stages, gives dramatically better results. Baldness can be prevented and you’re spared the hassle of hair transplantation. Now if that’s not a good reason to visit The Hair Loss Center, then what is?
